General Information

PUBLIC ACCESS TO DOCUMENTS AND INFORMATION

All documents and information relating to The Education (School Government) (England) Regulations are available in the school.  Parents wishing to see specific and appropriate documents may make arrangements to do so by contacting the school.  If it is the wish of the parents to acquire copies of documents, then a charge will be made to cover copying costs.

SCHOOL RECORDS

Educational and Curricular records for each pupil are available for the parents of that pupil to see, upon written request to the Head Teacher, in accordance with statutory regulations.

COMPLAINTS PROCEDURE

Governors have adopted the Borough's policy for the consideration of complaints under Section 23 of the Education Reform Act 1988.  Please contact the Head Teacher in the first instance.  A copy of the borough's procedure for the consideration of complaints relating to the curriculum and religious worship is available in school.

CHARGING AND REMISSIONS POLICY

The Governors of the school have adopted a Charging and Remissions Policy.  A copy is available in the school for parents to read.  Under the terms, parents are invited to make a voluntary contribution to cover the costs of school visits or performances, which take place mainly or wholly within school hours.  Provision is made for all children to take part whether parents contribute or not, although in the event of there being insufficient contributions the event may be cancelled. It is not the intention of the Governors to subsidise either school journeys or school visits.

Parents are also asked for a contribution towards the cost of admission for swimming.  Swimming for Year 5 takes place within school hours.

The cost incurred in providing individual music tuition will, at the moment, not be charged, but hire charges for a musical instrument will be made.

For breakages and damage caused to school property, equipment and materials by a pupil's misbehaviour, the Governors will seek to recover the cost of replacement as new.
