Dear Parents

Spelling

Commencing today, there will be two spelling groups in Year 1, Apples and Bananas.  Apples will be given a list of six key words we would like the children to learn to spell.  Bananas will be given a list of nine words which will include the six key words.  The extent to which children are able to spell the words they have been given since September beyond the week in which they were learnt has guided us in deciding which group to place them in.  We want to help each child to make further progress.

We appreciate the support that you give to your child/children each week.  As usual, please feel free to speak to us if you have any concerns.
