Resilience.

Today, we want to take a moment to talk about something really important — something that we’ve all needed, especially recently: resilience.

We’ve all faced challenges. Over the past few weeks, all of us in Year 6 have been working through our SATs. We’ve sat in silence, focused hard and done our best to show what we’ve learned. And even if it felt tough, even if there were moments we doubted ourselves or got stuck on a tricky question — we kept going. That’s resilience.

Resilience isn’t about finding everything easy. It’s not about never struggling. It’s about pushing through even when things feel hard. It’s about saying, “I may not know this yet, but I’ll try.” It’s about believing that effort matters and mistakes help us grow.

Sometimes we think that success means getting everything right. But actually, success comes from trying. From showing up. From not giving up, even when we feel like we want to.

We’re proud of the way we’ve worked. Not just in the SATs, but in the months leading up to them — learning, improving, asking questions, trying again. And now, as we look ahead to the rest of the term, and to secondary school, we know that life will bring more challenges. But we also know that we’re ready for them — because we’ve already shown what we’re made of.

So let’s remember this: we are stronger than we think. We are learners. We are doers. We are resilient. And when we face a mountain, we don’t walk away. We start climbing — one step at a time.

This is our thought of the week from all of us in Year 6
