Assessment Grids

Below are the assessment grids for reading, writing and maths which teachers use in order to help assess children’s learning in these subjects. They consist of a list of ‘I can’ statements that are age and stage appropriate, covering skills and content covered.

Thinking about secondary schools?

The Newstead Wood Parents' Association is pleased to invite students who are preparing for the 11+ to attend our upcoming Newstead Wood Familiarisation Mock Tests.

The tests will be held on the following dates at Newstead Wood School:

Saturday, 26th April 2025
Saturday, 17th May 2025
Saturday, 21st June 2025

These mock tests are designed for Year 5 students.
