Starting Nursery - September 2024

Nursery education is provided for children aged 3 and a half and 4 years old in those Bexley schools listed on Admission to Nursery Classes in Bexley 2024/25

For children born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021, the application period for starting nursery in September 2024 will open on Tuesday 16 January 2024 and close on Saturday 6 April 2024. For further information, please contact the School Admissions Team.


At Hurst, children start in September.

If you would like to visit our nursery, please book onto one of our open morning sessions when you will get to meet staff and visit the nursery setting. 

Our visits will take place on (just click on the date to book):

Monday 4 March - 9.30 am to 10.30 am - FULL

Thursday 14 March - 1.30 pm to 2.30 pm

Our Nursery Offer

  • Morning sessions 8.45 am to 11.45 am
  • Afternoon sessions 12.30 pm to 3.30 pm

40 places in our nursery.  Within these 40 places, we will be able to offer some 30-hour places - subject to availability (8.45 am to 3.30 pm, 6 hours, plus 45 minute lunch – charges apply). 

Allocation of 30-hour places will be dealt with using the school’s oversubscription criteria (see our Admission Policy which can be found on the school website). 

Parents will be given full details of how to express interest in the 30-hour offer, once places have been offered. 

All children will be admitted in September (subject to availability).
